Hudson Valley Swim offers a premium swim lesson program to the communities that we serve. We have been teaching infants, children and adults of all ages to swim since we founded the company in 2003. Initially located at various locations throughout the beautiful Hudson Valley in New York, February of 2022 was the start of our expansion program throughout the United States. 

There are approximately 4000 fatal drownings in the U.S. each year according to the CDC and another 8000 near-fatal drowning accidents that require medical attention. We do what we do because *Swim Lessons Save Lives!*

Operating a successful swim school does not require that the owner have an aquatics background. Owners instead will hire very experienced instructors with at least 5+ years of teaching experience and have a dynamic child-friendly personality.

The success of Hudson Valley Swim is comprised of several components:

TRAINING, COACHING, SUPPORT
We prioritize growth through robust training and support, and most importantly coaching each owner to streamline their business to operate efficiently.



Ideal Candidate

There are 3 high-level roles needed to operate a successful Hudson Valley Swim business. At first, these roles can be handled by a single person however as the program grows, the owner may consider distributing the role among several people.

1) Front-Office: This role is the face of the business to customers. They handle incoming leads via phone calls, emails, social media messages, etc. and help properly place students in correct classes based on our preset criteria. This person will learn to use our registration system, email system, phone system, etc. They will handle all instructor interviewing and scheduling.

2) Back-Office: This role handles the technical side of the business including payroll, insurance, bookkeeping, taxes, the relationship with the HV Swim franchisor itself. They also will handle the setup of the registration system, populating the website template, the social media marketing, recruiting, etc.

3) Swim Instructor(s): At least 1 very senior level instructor will be required. This person will be the company aquatic director. They will come to NY to train with HQ so they will be experts in our program and be able to coach the secondary instructors. It is best that each instructor is senior level. While 5y of experience is the minimum, it would be best for someone with 10-20y experience that may look at this opportunity as a career. In return, they will be paid more than market salaries in order to retain them and keep them committed.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
A prime candidate does not need an aquatics background. Their value is not in teaching but instead running the business and handling the customers. This person will want to run a business and wear many hats. They may even be looking for a socially conscious / community-focused do-good business as they ultimately are helping to keep children (and adults) safe.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about our mission of making a positive impact on the communities that we serve by delivering a best-in-class swim lesson program that builds self-confidence, promotes enjoyment, and reduces incidents of drowning while providing our invaluable service.

The Franchise Owner attributes we desire are individuals who are driven, well organized, community engagers, ability to manage a schedule, great communicators, and possess the ability to offer a high level of customer service.

The semi-passive owner will take on the responsibility of the back office role. The owner/operator will take on both the front and back office.
